The Heart of Hope and Healing Ministries Mission Statement

The purpose of this ministry is to bring hope and healing to those suffering from physical or emotional distress. It is also designed to teach those who want to help others who are suffering. Based on Shelley's first two books The Sampler: 10 Life-Enhancing Concepts Right at Your Fingertips, and The Soul Factor: What is the Soul's Role in Healing?, workshop participants learn the keys to healing and practical ways to give and receive love on both the human and spiritual level.

Shelley Maurice-Maier's own journey to hope and healing began at an early age with the challenges of a rare autoimmune disease called Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis (EG). The debilitating symptoms of EG include full-body eczema, asthma, migraines, and severe intestinal complications. Because of its severity, EG became the focus of Shelley's life. Childhood molestation added to the negative effects on her mind and body. Together, illness and abuse resulted in life-threatening conditions like a ruptured colon and metastatic cancer and poor life choices including an abusive first marriage, an infidelity and divorce. However, in a way Shelley could not have anticipated, those experiences became the fertile ground in which God planted and grew the seeds of His special purpose for her life. Through it all she came to understand the connection between the mind, body, and spirit and how important it is to have a personal relationship with the God who created them.

Humor and music are important elements of Shelley's ministry. Donell Archer, a music educator of several years, also brings years of professional experience as a gifted keyboard and backup singer. Donell partners with Shelley to weave music into the presentation. Donell and Shelley are also delighted to lead worship for retreats if this is requested at the time of booking.

Shelley is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, a board- certified Physician Assistant in Family Medicine and Psychotherapy, adjunct faculty with High Desert Christian College, and an approved speaker for Stonecroft Ministries. Her extensive training and experience performing on stage, television, and radio enable her to effectively communicate God's message of love and forgiveness to anyone who is interested in getting to the heart of hope and healing.
